Reviews about Medical One - Sunshine

I recently saw one of the doctors here at Medical One in Sunshine and she was undoubtedly the worst doctor I have ever come across in my life. I am shocked by her incompetence and lack of compassion. My first appointment was a consultation about implanon insertion. Following on from this, I made an appointment to have implanon inserted. During the procedure, she makes an unrelated comment about me looking skinny and then immediately jumps to the conclusion that I should be taking tablets to assist with my appetite. I was so angry that she had instantly assumed that I have an issue with food. That actually couldn’t be further from the truth – never in my life have I dieted or attempted weight loss. I personally love eating and cooking. She then asked me for my weight and height details. I told her I could only give a vague estimate, but still, based on the values I provided her with, she calculates my BMI and concludes that I’m underweight. I was astonished. I cannot believe that she apparently was willing to take this calculated BMI factually despite me making it clear that my estimates were only vague. Not only was it unprofessional (a competent doctor would have weighed me and measured my height to ensure an accurate value), but it also led to me feeling like I ought to be insecure about my weight. It gets worse… Just after the implanon was inserted, I suddenly remembered that a pregnancy test was supposed to be conducted prior to insertion. During my consultation, this doctor told me that if implanon is inserted while I’m not on my period, then we would need to do a pregnancy test beforehand to ensure I’m not pregnant. On the day of insertion, my doctor never asked if I was on my period. The pregnancy test was never mentioned. Upon remembering this, I was shocked that my doctor had either forgotten about the pregnancy test completely or had chosen to not bother mentioning it. It gets even worse… The day after insertion, I had unprotected sex numerous times with my partner. The day after that, I woke up feeling awful – back pain, fatigued, and nauseous. After vomiting, I decided to do some online research regarding implanon. That was the moment I first learned that implanon is effective after 7 days if inserted while you're not currently on your period. This means that when I had unprotected sex, the implanon would've done absolutely nothing. I was so shocked and angered that this was not mentioned at all during the consultation. The whole idea of the consultation was to go through all the facts about implanon, and evidently my doctor had skipped over one of the most important ones!! Fortunately, I was able to take the morning after pill in time. But I am so stunned that if I hadn’t vomited that morning, and therefore hadn’t looked up implanon, I very possibly might have been in for a huge shock several months later. This level of incomptence is plainly unacceptable. I have read some of the other reviews here referring to this female doctor, and I agree, I hope this doctor will one day no longer be allowed to practice.
